How I work

I am an Integrative Therapist which means I draw on several different disciplines (CBT/person-centred/12 step/aspects of the psychodynamic approach/existential) which I use according to need and according to the different stages of a client’s development. I will look closely with you at your choices – those you have made (those you didn’t know you made!) and those you will make. You will never be judged or criticised and hopefully you will realise you do not need to be ‘changed’ in any way. Any changes will be in your attitudes and your perceptions and these will come from you.

I realise the decision to enter (or re-enter) therapy is seldom taken lightly. It involves effort and surrender in equal measure. Fortunately old attitudes that therapy is for the weak or the mentally ill belong in the dark ages. Some people take long-term therapy as an investment in themselves even in the less desolate times, to take stock of life, have a place to think things through, to explore their motivations, resistances and fantasies – all in the hope of living a happier, more ‘successful’ life; others have a need for short-term ‘problem solving’ counselling focused on specific issues. I will always adapt to your needs.

Actors and performers

Some of my clients are actors and performers who may be feeling the need to make difficult or painful career choices – I have a wealth of experience in this area.

Trainees

I am happy to work with trainees.

My availability

I offer therapy between 8.00 am – 8.00 pm inclusively and prefer to work on Tuesdays,Wednesdays and Thursdays. However, if these days are not possible for you, don’t be put off as I can sometimes accommodate you.
